Chisolm Trail Woodworkers 2X4 Challenge
The rules for the 2x4 Challenge are as follows:
2. Your project must be built from a SINGLE 8' 2x4. You do not have to use all the wood from the 2x4
3. The 2x4 must be an industry standard framing stud (either pine or fir) and must have the typical dimensions of 1.5" x 3.5" x 8'. Length cannot exceed 8'.
4. Hardwood is not allowed.
5. You may not mill or make your own board from a larger board.
6. Any type of finishing is allowed. You may use stain, varnish, lacquer, shellac, paint, etc. or a combination.
7. Your project may be assembled with your choice of fasteners including, but not limited to, dowels, biscuits, nails, screws, or glue.
8. Hardware is allowed, but only to the extent that it does not replace a part that can be constructed from wood and does not become the focus of the project. This allows the use of hinges, locks, etc. but would not allow, for example, plastic or metal to be used for a drawer bottom, lid, etc.
9. You must be safe and have fun!
Please bring your completed projects to the June club meeting.
