Kevin opened with a discussion about the past year. We first met in January of 2023 with a few curious and inquisitive folks who were interested in discussing all aspects of woodworking. He mentioned that we are looking forward to continued fellowship and outreach in 2024.
He is looking into finding a partner hospital in the area make boxes for beads of courage. We will probably continue to support the Christmas gifts for military families. Also open to other outreach opportunities.
We have outgrown the meeting room at Grace Pointe. Next month we will begin meeting at Shepherd's Valley Cowboy Church. This will have a larger meeting area and room for demonstrations. The entire club showed appreciation for the space at Grace Pointe.
Shepherd's Valley needs a stage built in the youth room. Jerry proposed that we do this as a club outreach. Jerry also mentioned some big ideas for woodworking shows or events.
Don Deffenbeck gave a presentation about building a pergola in his back yard. The neat part about this project was what he did with all of the leftover lumber. He built a lot of patio furniture and artwork using the bits and pieces.
Sounds like a great meeting. I wish I had been there to bid Grace Point a warm and thankful departure with y'all. I look forward to January meeting on the other side of town, in our new location. Thanks for the "meeting minutes" Tim! Very cool.
